In a rare break from show writing, hyperventilating about the show and deep breathing into a brown paper bag, I took a few days holiday to Turkey.
It tied in with Jo’s birthday so we opted for 4 days of all inclusive relaxation, where the only decision was do you wanna sit by the pool or on the beach.
Oh it’s a hard life, int it.
The answer was beach, always.
When you don’t leave the resort for a few days, you get to know people. Not in a hi how are you, having a nice holiday kind of way, but in the way that you will recognise them at the buffet, doing the same tired flip flop shuffle toward the coffee machine each morning. Then again, later, at the bar ordering a tropical beer and a white sangria for the third day in a row, so you nudge your partner in the ribs, surreptitiously nodding and muttering their moniker under your breath.
